Domed badge or UV-DTF graphic: which should you choose?
Choose a domed resin badge when the raised clear dome is part of the requirement. Choose a UV-DTF graphic when a flat printed logo applied to a smooth hard surface meets the brief. A printed highlight in the artwork does not create a physical resin lens, and a UV-DTF order does not include a separately cast domed badge. Transfer305 prints UV-DTF transfers. We do not make domed badges or apply doming.

What does the dome add to a sticker?
Doming adds clear resin to a printed, shaped sticker. That creates a dimensional component with its own height and edge, which a flat graphic does not have. The mechanism helps define the comparison, but suitability and performance still depend on the selected product and application, so ask the badge supplier for its specification and a sample.
A UV-DTF graphic is a printed layer applied to the surface. It can carry the logo, the colors and any printed highlight, but it does not add a lens or a raised profile.
Where are domed badges and UV-DTF graphics used?
Domed badges are often chosen for equipment, tools and products where a raised emblem is part of the look. UV-DTF graphics suit logos, labels, names, product marks and promotional decals on smooth hard surfaces such as glass, acrylic, plastic, metal, packaging, drinkware and signs. UV-DTF is not for fabric.
Hypothetical example: a buyer wants a logo beside a sliding cover. A domed badge might be the intended aesthetic, but clearance must be resolved before committing to it. Do not infer a fit from the logo’s width alone.
What should you specify for the whole component?
Keep the visible logo size separate from the outer badge shape. A badge can include a surrounding area that is not obvious in a cropped reference photo. Request the complete outline and intended raised profile.

How do you approve the object with the component in place?
Use a representative physical sample when the raised profile matters. Review how the component fits and how its edge appears on the intended object. How do materials and durability compare?
A domed badge combines a printed base, a clear resin layer and an adhesive, so its materials and performance come from the supplier’s product. Ask for the written specification and a sample. A UV-DTF graphic depends on the surface instead: coating, texture, curvature and cleanliness affect adhesion, and the decal needs to stabilize before washing, rubbing or exposure. Neither process name settles outdoor, cleaning or wear performance, and Transfer305 does not publish a lifespan for UV-DTF decals. Test a sample under your real conditions before you order the full quantity.
