Where DTF colors go wrong

Put the colors and details that matter to your work on the sheet. See how we print them.

Illustration of red, blue, pink, green, shadow and gray targets beside possible color shifts.
  • Reds turn orange or too pink

A brand red drifts warm toward orange or cool toward pink.

  • Royal blues go violet or too dark

Royal blue picks up purple or prints far too dark.

  • Pinks print too red

A bright pink loses its cool side and leans red.

  • Greens come out too dark

A bright green prints heavy, closer to forest green.

  • Shadows lose their detail

Dark tones merge into flat black and fine detail disappears.

  • Grays turn bluish or yellowish

A neutral gray picks up a cool or warm color cast.

How the $10 trial works

Three steps from your file to your decision.

One sheet can hold multiple designs. Bring your brand colors, fine detail, tough gradients and neutral grays. Press the transfers on your own garment, check the result and decide whether we earned your next order.

No test chart needed. Use the designs you actually sell, at the sizes you print them.

  1. Illustration: vector, PNG and PDF cards of the same crest drop into a tray beside a red color-reference card.

    Send your finished sheet.

Upload your artwork at its intended print size. Need help with loose designs or a critical color reference? Contact us before ordering.

  2. Illustration: a 24.5 × 24 in film gang sheet with sample artwork comes out of a printer.

    We print real production transfers.

Your artwork goes through our regular DTF production process.

  3. Illustration: white T-shirt with a left-chest crest beside icons for checking color, detail and feel.

    Press it. Check it. Decide.

Press on your own garment and peel hot, following our pressing guide. Check your important colors, detail, edges and feel. Then decide.

Color charts vs. your target

Your brand color needs a defined target.

A printed chart can help you choose colors within one printing setup. For a critical brand color, start with an agreed reference and evaluate the printed result.

  • A reference from one printer setup
  • An agreed target for your artwork

Send your original artwork and color reference. We measure our printing against defined targets. If a file or reference needs attention, we review it with you before production.

Pantone and brand colors

Bring your Pantone reference. Test what is achievable.

For a critical color, contact us before ordering. We can review your reference and options from our 19,000+ color-reference library. Agree on an achievable target, then judge the result on your physical trial.

Process inks cannot reproduce every Pantone color exactly. Library coverage is not a promise of exact reproduction; materials and viewing conditions also affect the result.

The process behind your colors

Your artwork. One agreed target.
Measured process control.

We measure our printing against defined gray-balance and tone targets to help manage consistency as printing conditions change.

G7 supports gray balance and tone across print runs. Your trial lets you judge the result on the garment you use.

Process led by Michael Solier, G7+ Expert (ID 528257, Idealliance).

  1. Your target.

Your artwork, plus a Pantone reference if you have one.

  2. Our process control.

Defined targets and measured process control support consistent output.

  3. Your decision.

Press a transfer on your own garment, hold your reference beside it and judge.

Illustration. Your reference sets the target, our measured, gray-balanced process aims for it, and you judge the print on your own garment.
Does G7 guarantee an exact Pantone match?

No. G7 supports gray balance and tone; Pantone identifies a color reference. Process inks cannot reproduce every color exactly. For a critical color, contact us before ordering to review an achievable target for the intended material.

Vector and PNG need to agree? Bring both.

Send both original files and tell us which colors matter. We review their color setup together and use your trial to check the printed result.

Check your sheet the way printers do

  • Light: we evaluate critical colors using printing standards. A match under one light can look different under another.
  • Reference: use the agreed physical reference. For Pantone, include the complete code and suffix; a screen or phone photo is not a physical color standard.
  • Garment: evaluate on the fabric and color you intend to use. Material and texture affect appearance.
  • Pressing: follow our pressing guide for your fabric and peel hot. Application conditions are part of a useful trial.

Is the DTF sample free?

No. It is $10 with shipping included to the contiguous U.S., including Florida. Applicable tax is calculated at checkout. You receive one 24.5 × 24-inch DTF gang sheet printed with your own artwork.

Do I need a Pantone number?

No. Your artwork is enough for a regular trial. If your brand has a Pantone reference or another critical color target, contact us before ordering so we can review it together.

What if my Pantone color is out of ink range?

Some colors are outside what our process inks and materials can reproduce. For a critical reference, contact us before ordering. We can review an achievable alternative with you; our 19,000+ color-reference library does not mean every color can be reproduced exactly.

Can I send my designs by WhatsApp or email instead?

Yes. Send your designs and intended print sizes by WhatsApp at (305) 801-8267 or to files@transfer305.com before ordering. We will confirm the submission route, preparation needed and next step.

WhatsApp (305) 801-8267 files@transfer305.com

Where does the $10 trial ship?

Shipping is included to the contiguous U.S., including Florida. Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories are not included. Applicable tax is calculated at checkout.

Can I order more than one trial?

One trial per customer. Repeat trial orders are reviewed before printing. For additional sheets, use our regular DTF ordering options.

How do I press the transfers and check the color?

Follow the instructions supplied with your order and our pressing guide. Hot peel is the standard approach. Test on your intended garment and check your important colors, fine detail, edges and feel.

Why can a color match in one light and not in another?

This is called metamerism: two physical samples can match under one light and differ under another. Process inks simulate Pantone colors with a different ink recipe. We evaluate critical colors using printing standards; check your trial on the intended garment against the agreed reference.

What if something does not look right?

Reply to your order email with the order number, a photo and what you expected. We will review it with you. For color concerns, include the agreed reference if there is one. A photo helps start the conversation; it does not replace a physical color comparison.

Need the same brand color across DTF and UV-DTF?

Tell us the color target and intended materials so we can review both applications. This $10 trial is for one DTF gang sheet; UV-DTF testing is arranged separately. Discuss your color target.

Let the result earn
your next order.
