Custom DTF Transfers by Size for Individual Logos and Placements

This page is one specific ordering workflow. Confirm what it is for, what file stage it expects, and which alternative to use when your artwork is not ready for this path. Order individual DTF transfers by size when you do not need a complete gang sheet. Upload one design, enter the dimensions shown by the product, select quantity, and use the same controlled measurements for future reorders.

Use By-Size Ordering for Separate, Countable Pieces

This route works well when each logo, name, number, sleeve, pocket, front, or back design needs its own dimensions and quantity. A gang sheet may be more efficient when many designs can share one canvas and you will cut them yourself.

Enter Width and Height—Do Not Guess from a Shirt Size

Follow the measurement fields shown by the product. Do not assume every DTF product uses the longest side. Preserve artwork proportions unless stretching or reshaping is intentional. A small, medium, or large garment does not automatically determine the correct graphic width.

Common Starting Points Need Project Approval

Left-chest logos, sleeves, youth fronts, adult fronts, backs, names, numbers, totes, and uniforms all use different dimensions. Treat common sizing charts as starting references—not universal rules. Check the garment, artwork proportions, placement, and customer expectation.

Area-Based Price with No Minimum

Standard DTF pricing is $0.02 per square inch. For example, a 10 × 12-inch design covers 120 square inches and costs $2.40 at the standard rate. The live product displays the actual configuration and total before checkout.

Artwork Must Support the Requested Size

An image can look sharp on a phone and still be too small for a large back print. Raster quality depends on real pixels at final size. PNG can preserve transparency; vectors can scale more reliably for logos. Keep intentional white and remove only unwanted exterior background.

By-Size Questions

Measure once, document it, and reuse the approved dimensions for the next order.

Advanced ordering, production, and decision guide

Turn the order into a placement matrix

By-size ordering is easiest when each line item represents one design, one final size, and one quantity. Do not combine several placements into a single vague note. A 4-inch left chest, 11-inch adult front, 13-inch back, and 3-inch sleeve are separate production specifications even if they use the same logo.

For teams and uniforms, pair each design with the roster or garment group that receives it. This creates an auditable record and reduces the risk of mixing adult, youth, coach, or sleeve versions.

Line item Final size Quantity Placement/use
Primary logo 4 × 4 in 30 Left chest
Sponsor mark 3 × 1.5 in 30 Sleeve
Player number 10 × 12 in 24 Back
Coach title 8 × 2 in 6 Back name line

Use area pricing to check the order, not to guess the design

Standard DTF pricing is $0.02 per square inch. A 4 × 4 inch transfer covers 16 square inches; a 10 × 12 inch transfer covers 120 square inches. The area calculation makes the price understandable, but the customer still must choose the correct width and height for the actual placement.

Do not enlarge a low-resolution raster file merely because a larger size can be entered. Final output quality depends on the real pixel dimensions, edge quality, transparency, and artwork construction. Send the best source file when the required size is uncertain.

  • Measure the printable placement area, not only the garment label size.
  • Keep proportions unless a deliberate distortion has been approved.
  • Separate adult, youth, and specialty placements when sizes differ.
  • Confirm whether the listed size is width × height.
  • Order controlled spares for names, numbers, and event deadlines.

Create a reorder standard

A repeatable by-size order records the approved artwork version, final dimensions, quantity, placement, garment or material, and prior order reference. A filename such as “logo-final.png” is not enough when several versions exist. Use customer, design, placement, and revision information in the record.

When the number of designs becomes large, compare by-size ordering with a gang-sheet workflow. The more individual placements and copies the order contains, the more valuable a shared production canvas may become.

Decision rule: by-size is the clearest path for a few known placements; a builder is often more efficient for a large mixed inventory.
