Questions about files and artwork

What file formats do you accept?

We recommend PNG files with a transparent background. We also accept PDF, AI, PSD, SVG, EPS, JPG and TIFF files. For sharp results, submit artwork at 300 DPI or higher. The artwork guidelines list the full file requirements, and our team can review your file before printing.

Can you check my artwork before printing?

Yes. Our team reviews artwork for basic printability and quality. If we notice a significant issue with your file, we may contact you before production. For sharp results, submit artwork at 300 DPI with a transparent background. To send a file for review, email sales@transfer305.com with the size and quantity you need.

Questions about ordering and pricing

Do you offer a Gang Sheet Builder?

Yes. Our online DTF gang sheet builder lets you upload multiple designs, resize artwork, duplicate images and make the most of your sheet space before you place your order. If you already have a completed gang sheet, upload it and check out. UV-DTF has its own UV-DTF gang sheet builder.

What is the difference between a gang sheet and transfers by size?

A gang sheet is one sheet that holds many designs, priced at $0.02 per sq in for DTF. With transfers by size you set the exact finished dimensions of a design, priced at $0.04 per sq in for DTF. Choose a gang sheet to fit several designs on one sheet, and choose by size when you need one graphic at an exact finished size.

Do you have minimum order requirements?

No. We offer no minimum order quantities, so you can order a single transfer, a gang sheet or a large production run. There are also no setup fees, and you can build a sheet in our online gang sheet builder or upload a finished one.

How much do DTF and UV-DTF transfers cost?

DTF gang sheets are $0.02 per sq in, and DTF transfers by size are $0.04 per sq in. UV-DTF gang sheets are $0.04 per sq in, and UV-DTF transfers by size are $0.06 per sq in. A 24.5 × 6 in DTF gang sheet starts at $2.99, and a 24.5 × 24 in sheet is $11.49. A 23 × 6 in UV-DTF gang sheet starts at $5.99.

Can I test my artwork or colors before a larger order?

Yes. The $10 Custom DTF sample gang sheet is a 24.5 × 24 in sheet printed from your own artwork, with shipping included in the contiguous US and one per customer. Press it on your own garment and judge the result before a larger order. For a critical brand color, contact us first so we can review your color target.

Questions about production, pickup and shipping

What is your turnaround time?

Qualifying, paid, approved, print-ready weekday orders placed by 2:00 PM ET can receive same-day production, subject to capacity, and same-day production does not include shipping or delivery. Production time for other orders depends on order volume and artwork readiness. Ask us about timing for a specific order.

Can I pick up my order in Miami?

Yes. Local pickup is at 10775 SW 190th St Unit 7, Miami, FL 33157, and it is coordinated after we confirm the order is ready. Wait for the ready confirmation before you travel to the facility. Finishing production and being ready for pickup are separate steps. See DTF printing and pickup in Miami for details.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes, nationwide shipping is available. Production is separate from carrier transit, so shipping time depends on the carrier and your destination. If you have a deadline, ask us whether pickup or shipping suits your order better.

Questions about pressing and care

What materials can DTF transfers be applied to?

DTF transfers work on most fabric types, including:

  • Cotton
  • Polyester
  • Cotton/Poly Blends
  • Tri-Blends
  • Performance Wear
  • Hoodies & Sweatshirts
  • Tote Bags
  • Many Other Textiles

DTF is for garments and fabric. Set the press for your fabric: polyester needs lower heat than cotton, as the pressing guide explains.

How do I apply DTF transfers?

Follow the fabric-specific settings and Hot Peel instructions in our pressing guide. In short: pre-press the garment, position the transfer film side up with the adhesive side down, press at the settings for your fabric, then hot peel by removing the carrier film while the transfer is still warm.

How should I wash a garment with a DTF transfer?

Wash the garment inside-out in cold or warm water with mild detergent, and skip fabric softener and bleach. The pressing guide lists the full care steps, including how to re-press a transfer through parchment paper if the edges lift after heavy use.

How long do DTF transfers last?

How long a transfer lasts depends on pressing, fabric and care: press at the settings for your fabric with firm, even pressure, hot peel as the guide directs, and wash the garment inside-out without fabric softener. The pressing guide describes an optional seal press for uniforms and garments washed often. Durability depends on the garment and how it is pressed and washed, so we do not quote a fixed wash count here.

What mistakes shorten the life of a DTF transfer?

The most common mistakes are skipping the pre-press, using too little or uneven pressure, pressing without a protective sheet, peeling a hot-peel transfer after it has cooled, and using too much heat on polyester, which can pull garment dye into the print. Washing with fabric softener over many cycles also works against the edges. The pressing guide explains how to avoid each one.

Why is my DTF transfer lifting or cracking?

The most common causes are too little pressure, then too little heat, and uneven platen pressure across the design. Increase pressure first, then temperature, and re-press through parchment paper. Over many washes, fabric softener also works against the edges. The pressing guide has a troubleshooting table with causes and fixes for lifting, cracking, dull color and color ghosting on polyester.

Questions about UV-DTF

What are UV-DTF transfers used for?

UV-DTF transfers are designed for hard surfaces and do not require a heat press. They can be applied to tumblers, cups and mugs, glass, plastic, metal, acrylic, wood, and packaging and promotional products. Peel the transfer and apply it to the surface for a full-color decal. UV-DTF is not for fabric, so use DTF for garments, and test unfamiliar surfaces first. Browse UV-DTF stickers or order UV-DTF transfers by size.

Questions about color

Can you match my Pantone® color?

We check your Pantone® reference against our measured color data before printing. Colors inside our measured range print to target, and for a color outside that range we show you the closest printable option before printing. Process inks cannot reproduce every Pantone color exactly, so approve a sample when the color is critical. See our Pantone color matching page and the DTF color matching guide.
