What is a custom DTF gang sheet?

A custom DTF gang sheet is one sheet of transfer film that holds your own designs, sizes and copies, printed together. You cut the printed designs apart and press each one onto a garment. Packing designs closely uses less sheet area, which usually lowers the cost per design compared with ordering each design alone.

How do I create a custom DTF gang sheet on the rolling canvas?

1. Upload the designs needed for the current order.
2. Set the real printed dimensions for each item.
3. Duplicate exact quantities before arranging.
4. Position larger or less flexible pieces first.
5. Use the remaining space for smaller artwork without overlap.
6. Review final length, counts, spelling, orientation and cutting room, then approve the layout and check out.

Build from the largest constraints to the smallest details. Arrange large required placements first, then medium designs, then smaller logos or approved spares. Lock final dimensions before you judge space efficiency, and rotate a design only when its orientation does not create a production or sorting problem.

What file and resolution does the rolling canvas need?

Use original sources, vectors or the largest clean files you have. A small raster image stays limited even when you enlarge it on the canvas, and PNG preserves transparency but does not create resolution. Aim for 300 PPI at the intended print size when possible.

To check a file, divide its pixel width by the printed width in inches. A file 1,200 pixels wide is 300 PPI at 4 inches, 150 PPI at 8 inches and 100 PPI at 12 inches. Keep intentional white artwork and remove only the exterior background that should not print. Read the DTF artwork requirements before a deadline-driven order.

How do I avoid overpacking or missing copies?

Filled space is not the same as a correct layout. Efficient nesting matters, but do not sacrifice cutting space, edge safety, count accuracy or legibility just to fill every gap. Tiny designs, thin isolated pieces and partial transparency may need more separation than simple block artwork.

The rolling workflow still needs an inventory. Automatic canvas growth does not verify that a name is spelled correctly, that every roster entry appears or that adult and youth designs use different sizes. A rolling canvas can also invite endless “one more copy” decisions. Before checkout, compare the layout with your original order specification. Extra copies should be intentional, and missing copies should be fixed before payment, not discovered during garment decoration.

How do I press the transfers?

Cut the sheet apart, pre-press the garment, position each transfer, press at the settings for the fabric and hot peel the film while it is warm. The DTF heat press settings guide lists temperature, time and pressure by fabric. DTF transfers are for garments and fabric such as cotton, polyester and blends.

How do production timing and pickup work?

Qualifying, paid, approved, print-ready weekday orders placed by 2:00 PM ET can receive same-day production, subject to capacity. Same-day production applies to qualifying orders and is not same-day delivery.
