DTF on nylon: confirm the garment and transfer before ordering
Share
The nylon label starts the assessment
Do not decide whether a DTF transfer will suit a garment from the word “nylon” alone. Identify the exact item and ask the transfer supplier to assess that item with the product being proposed. A general fabric category is not a completed decoration specification.
For example, Siser describes EasyWeed Extra as heat-transfer vinyl intended for nylon. Its product data sheet also names treated fabrics and recommends testing before production. Those statements concern a named HTV product; they neither approve nor rule out a different DTF transfer on your item.
Send the garment and surface information together
We recommend preparing this record before buying transfers for a nylon jacket or bag. Obtain missing information from the garment supplier rather than guessing from the fabric's appearance.
- Item: record the brand, model, color and fabric composition.
- Surface: identify any declared coating, finish or water-repellent treatment.
- Decoration: show the final graphic dimensions and location on that item.
- Process: ask the supplier to identify the exact transfer and the garment requirements it will use.
If the finish remains unknown, keep that uncertainty in the request. Do not substitute an unverified treatment description or remove a coating to make a general transfer recommendation fit.

An accepted result on another garment does not answer every question about this one.
Approve the proposed combination
Ask the responsible decorator to define an appropriate evaluation on a representative item before committing the batch. Record the accepted appearance and the care requirements for the finished decoration. An accepted result on another garment does not answer every question about this one.
Imagine a hypothetical organization choosing between nylon jackets and ordinary shirts for its logo. If the jacket cannot yet be qualified, the organization can pause that item while separately assessing the shirt option. It need not treat both garments as one material decision.
Compare the actual transfer being offered
If a supplier proposes a different decoration method, confirm the resulting appearance, artwork preparation and deliverable. A nylon-oriented HTV product and a ready-to-press DTF graphic are separate specifications.
Review the DTF transfer options, prepare the file with the artwork guide and send the garment details to Transfer305 for clarification before ordering. This guide does not declare every nylon item compatible or provide a universal pressing recipe.
