What is a DTF gang sheet?

A DTF gang sheet is one sheet of transfer film that holds many designs printed together. You cut the finished sheet apart and press each transfer onto a garment. Because the designs share one sheet, you pay one area-based price instead of ordering every design separately.

How do I build a DTF gang sheet?

1. Select the sheet size that fits the job. Sheets are 24.5 inches wide and 6 to 300 inches long.
2. Upload clean source artwork for each design.
3. Enter the width and height you want each design printed.
4. Duplicate each design to the exact quantity you need.
5. Arrange the designs without overlap and leave practical cutting space.
6. Review names, numbers, spelling, orientation, copy count and background.
7. Approve the layout and check out.

How much does a DTF gang sheet cost?

DTF gang sheets cost $0.02 per square inch. A 24.5 × 6 in sheet starts at $2.99, and a 24.5 × 24 in sheet is $11.49. The number of colors in your artwork does not change the area-based rate, and the price for the size you select appears before checkout.

The gang sheet rate is half the $0.04 per square inch rate for DTF transfers by size, so a well-filled sheet usually costs less per design than ordering each design separately. Empty space still counts toward the sheet area. Arrange designs closely, but keep practical cutting space between them.

Which sheet size should I choose?

Choose the shortest sheet that holds every design, every copy and the cutting space between them. Sheets are 24.5 inches wide and come in lengths of 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120, 132, 144, 156, 168, 180, 192, 204, 216, 228, 240 and 300 inches.

Add up the area of every design and its copies, then add space for cutting. If the job falls between two lengths, move up to the next sheet or use the custom DTF gang sheet rolling canvas, where the layout sets the length.

What file do I need for the builder?

Use clean artwork at the size you plan to print. A transparent PNG works for raster designs, and vector files such as PDF, SVG or AI suit logos and lettering. PNG preserves transparency but does not create resolution, so the file needs enough real pixels for its final dimensions.

Aim for 300 PPI at the intended print size when possible. A design 4 inches wide needs about 1,200 pixels, and a design 10 inches wide needs about 3,000. Keep intentional white artwork and remove only the exterior background that should not print. Read the DTF artwork requirements, or send the file and target size to sales@transfer305.com.

How do I check my sheet before I order?

The preview shows the layout you submit, and that layout is your production approval. Confirm that every design is inside the canvas, no hidden or unused artwork remains and the number of copies is correct. Do not use a screenshot of the builder as the production source.

Build the sheet from a production inventory, not from memory. Before you open the builder, list every unique design, its final printed size and its copy count. Treat a left chest, full front, back, sleeve, name and number as separate placements, even when they belong to the same garment.

Then compare the finished sheet with that list:

• Check line by line that every copy is inside the canvas boundary.
• Check real pixels for the final size, transparent backgrounds, spelling and duplicate counts. Zooming in can reveal rough edges, but sharpness on screen is not enough.
• Use only the final approved file version.
• Keep reasonable spacing between designs and do not treat every empty gap as a failure. Overpacking can create handling risk around irregular shapes and mixed customer jobs. A good sheet balances area efficiency with accurate dimensions and practical separation.
• Save an exported record of the approved layout, and note the order number for reorders.

A correctly counted and dimensioned sheet is worth more than a densely packed sheet that needs rework. For a repeat order, retain the approved sheet, the source files, the final dimensions, the quantity record and the order reference. Do not recreate a repeat from a low-resolution screenshot.

Which gang sheet option fits my job?

Choose the route that matches the stage of your artwork. A fixed canvas is useful when the available sheet size already matches the job and you want every design inside one defined boundary. Picking a different route is not a compromise. It removes unnecessary steps.

How do I press the transfers from a gang sheet?

Gang sheet transfers are pressed like any other DTF transfer, and our transfers are made for hot peel. Cut the sheet apart, then press each transfer in four steps:

1. Pre-press the garment for 3 to 5 seconds to drive out moisture.
2. Position the transfer film side up, adhesive side down.
3. Press under a protective sheet at the settings for your fabric.
4. Hot peel: remove the carrier film while it is still warm, in one smooth motion at a low angle.

Our starting point for cotton is 295°F for 8 to 12 seconds at 60 to 80 PSI. Blends, polyester, hoodies and nylon use different settings, so check the chart by fabric in the DTF heat press settings guide and test on scrap fabric first. DTF transfers are for garments and fabric such as cotton, polyester and blends. For glass, acrylic, plastic or metal, use UV-DTF transfers, which need no heat press.

How do production timing and pickup work?

Qualifying, paid, approved, print-ready weekday orders placed by 2:00 PM ET can receive same-day production, subject to capacity.
