Glitter-look artwork or a sparkling transfer: specify the effect before ordering

A picture of sparkle is not a material specification

A design can depict glitter using dots, highlights and shaded shapes. That describes the image. It does not establish that the finished transfer contains a sparkling material or changes appearance as the garment moves.

Physical specialty materials are a separate choice. For example, Siser offers Holographic heat-transfer vinyl for shiny effects. That is evidence of a specific alternative, not evidence that every product described as DTF has the same finish or that Transfer305 offers it.

Write the requirement in terms of what you will see

  • Printed appearance: a graphic that looks like glitter from its printed pattern.
  • Physical effect: a finish that visibly sparkles or changes with viewing angle.
  • Placement: which parts need the effect and which parts need ordinary printed detail.
  • Approval: the physical sample and viewing conditions that the decision-maker will use.

Keep the original design and the effect requirement together. The artwork guide addresses file preparation; a file review alone cannot approve a physical finish.

A hypothetical order brief

Consider 10 shirts with a wordmark and a star. A useful brief says: “The star must physically sparkle when the shirt moves; the wordmark must remain readable at the approved size.” It also identifies whether a printed imitation would be acceptable if the requested material is unavailable.

Do not silently substitute a glitter-pattern image for that requirement. If separate decoration materials are proposed, have the applicator confirm the garment and application plan before ordering; do not assume they can be layered together.
