Ordering heather shirts for DTF: check the fabric behind each color

One style name does not prove one fabric blend

Check the material specification for the exact shirt color you intend to buy. A manufacturer may use different fiber blends within a product family. For example, Gildan’s G1100OPP listing describes its solids as 100% cotton and its heathers as 90% cotton and 10% polyester.

That is a specific manufacturer example, not a rule for every heather shirt or an endorsement of that blank for Transfer305. The useful habit is to read the style-and-color specification and confirm the label on the actual garment.

Build a blank list before the transfer list

Field What to record
Identity Manufacturer and exact style code
Color The supplier’s color name or code
Composition The fiber percentages for that color
Other limits Care label, finish and any decoration instructions
Design Final dimensions and placement approved for that blank

Send this information when checking your project with Transfer305. A fiber label helps define the job; it is not a complete compatibility test.

Checklist of five blank fields to record: identity, color, composition, other limits and design.
Record the manufacturer and style code, the supplier’s color name, the fiber percentages for that color, care and finish limits, and the approved design size and placement.

Treat a substitute color as a check, not an automatic approval

In a hypothetical order, 14 solid-color shirts are replaced with 14 heather shirts because of availability. The quantity has not changed, but the material may have. Keep the replacement separate in the order record until its composition, appearance and application plan are confirmed.

Use the artwork guide to review the design against the chosen garment color. For repeat work, retain the blank specification with the approved file so a later substitution is visible.

Order against the confirmed garment specification

Once the blank and design are confirmed, choose the appropriate DTF transfer option. Follow the Transfer305 pressing guide for the supplied transfer and resolve any conflict with the garment instructions before applying the full order.
