Before adding a logo to high-visibility workwear

A branding approval and a safety decision are separate
A company logo can be visually correct while the proposed decorated garment still needs a safety review. If the clothing is selected as protective or high-visibility apparel, identify the exact garment and the person responsible for that selection before ordering its decoration.
ISEA's high-visibility overview describes standards that address material performance, areas and placement. This makes the complete garment specification relevant. A bright logo color, attractive mockup or transfer purchase does not establish the conformity of the finished item.
Gather the garment-specific answer
Our recommendation is to send the garment manufacturer or authorized supplier the style identification, size range and proposed decoration layout. Ask for the applicable decoration limitations and the evidence needed to retain the intended garment classification.
Have the employer's qualified safety decision maker confirm the clothing requirements for the actual work. Do not replace that decision with a generic printing recommendation. Requirements can depend on the garment and intended use; this guide does not provide a universal permitted logo size.
Keep the approval record complete
- Garment identity: retain its label information and exact style reference.
- Proposed change: show each graphic's position and dimensions on the garment.
- Written response: keep the supplier's decoration limitations and any required evaluation.
- Release decision: identify who accepts the final decorated specification for its intended use.
If the supplier has not confirmed a proposed change, leave it pending. A successful application trial alone does not answer all safety-apparel requirements.

A useful alternative when approval is unresolved
Imagine a business wants the same large back graphic on ordinary promotional shirts and on safety vests. This is a hypothetical example. Keep the promotional design as one brief and obtain the separate safety-apparel decision for the vest. Matching brand artwork does not require an identical decoration layout on every item.
Use the artwork guide for file preparation. Review DTF transfers only within an appropriate, confirmed garment plan, and share the actual specification with Transfer305. Transfer305 artwork review is not a safety certification or authorization to alter protective clothing.
