UV-DTF or printed labels for changing details: which should you choose?
Use UV-DTF when you can supply every version of the design as its own artwork: the fixed logo and colors, plus each name, date or batch identifier. Choose a printed label product instead when you need a specific label material or adhesive, or automatic variable-data printing. Transfer305 prints UV-DTF transfers for smooth hard surfaces. We do not run automatic variable-data processing or supply separate printed labels.
Both routes can carry artwork, but changing text changes the number of versions you must prepare, approve and order. This guide concerns decorative and organizational graphics. It does not determine what mandatory product labeling requires.

How do you separate the fixed design from the information that changes?
List which parts of the design will stay the same, then list what changes. A logo may remain fixed while a name, batch identifier, event date or team number changes. Then work through these steps:
- Write down the fixed elements: logo, colors and shape.
- Write down each changing field and how many different values it has.
- Build a version list with the exact wording and the quantity of every version.
- Decide whether each version is one combined graphic, or a common logo decal plus a separately managed identifier.
- Prepare every version at its final size and approve the complete arrangement at actual size.
- Compare the complete quoted job, including who applies the graphics.

What does a version-count worksheet look like?
Hypothetical example: 36 organizers need the same logo, divided into 3 groups with different identifying text. The worksheet below compares the two ways to order them.
That separation may simplify later changes, but it also adds another component to place and check.
How do label materials and finishes compare?
For a printed label, identify its exact face material, adhesive, shape and printing method. Paper, clear film and white film are different choices, and the word label does not specify their performance. Label makers distinguish water resistance from waterproof performance and note that some label results depend on the printing system. Do not carry one label product’s claim across to another label or to UV-DTF.
For a UV-DTF graphic, check the actual surface and finish. Coating, texture, curvature and cleanliness affect adhesion, so test an unfamiliar surface before you order a large quantity. State the real cleaning and handling conditions when you ask about either option.
What about QR codes, barcodes and serial numbers?
Every unique code or number is its own artwork version. Transfer305 prints the codes you supply, and it does not generate, serialize or verify them. UV-DTF by size is $0.06 per sq in and UV-DTF gang sheets are $0.04 per sq in, with no minimums. A 2 × 3 in label decal is 6 sq in, or $0.36 per decal at the by-size rate, and the product page shows the exact price for your width, height and quantity before checkout. Each design gets its own quantity, so three versions can be ordered as three designs. For many versions on one sheet, place each artwork in the gang sheet builder and set its quantity.
Hypothetical example: a candle brand with one logo and three scent names orders the three versions as separate designs by size, each with its own quantity.
